Will the US peace talks between the RSF and SAF be able to reach a ceasefire in Sudan?

There’s finally been some traction toward peace talks between the RSF and SAF. This is great news and hopefully will get somewhere, but there are some concerns about who is involved in these negotiations. Can someone explain why Saudi Arabia is hosting these talks and why the UAE is also directly involved when the UAE is implicated in providing weapons and funding to the UAE? Why does this feel like the US, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE will push the SAF into making concessions? Hopefully this is not the case at all, but it is alarming to have these two countries involved in Sudan’s peace talks when the UAE should be called out and held accountable for aiding the RSF’s war crimes against tens of thousands of innocent Sudanese. Saudi Arabia is the the strongest ally to the UAE and also the co-host of these peace negotiations, but the peace they should be aiding in is for Palestine and they should let other countries in Africa host it. The US congress did label the war in Sudan a genocide, but there are little repercussions that have come of it in the way of sanctions or arms embargoes, though there are some sanctions in place against RSF members but it has done nothing to abate the genocide. Both the RSF and SAF must understand that they will be held accountable for their war crimes and they need to end this war before more people are hurt and killed, so there needs to be a united front between nations that refuse to support either warring party if the war continues and the Sudanese people are not given control of their own country. In these upcoming talks that will take place in Switzerland, there are too many countries that are involved in the actual genocide that should not be at a negotiation for peace.

Reuters: US invites Sudan's warring parties for talks, RSF to participate

One of the underlying issues with the genocide in Sudan, is that the RSF leader, Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, more widely known as “Hemedti”, has been given time and access with world leaders and international organizations that he never should have because he is a war criminal. The only thing the RSF leader deserves are permanent sanctions and a jail cell in The Hague. Hemedti being able to meet with foreign leaders and groups shows where the world stands when it comes to war crimes and genocide. They are simply looking to profit and if the RSF takes control of Sudan, they want a piece of that profit. World leaders and international organizations need to take a stand and call for sanctions against Hemedti and all of the leaders within the RSF, along with the countries and companies providing funding and arms to the RSF. The fact that leaders are meeting with such a horrific war criminal says that they condone these actions, and these people should be voted out of office permanently.

Al Jazeera: Global community needs to do more to end RSF atrocities in Sudan

While peace talks are scheduled, and no arms embargo created, the Sudanese are struggling to find safety, food, medicine, and water. There is violence in Sudan and there is violence for Sudanese refugees when they cross the border into neighboring countries seeking refuge. It’s been two years of war which has become a genocide and famine. Women and girls are raped by the RSF which uses sexual violence to terrorize and permanently scar victims, their families, and partners. Where do women and girls go who have been raped and need treatment? Where do mothers go to give birth or people harmed in the attacks on cities and towns? The healthcare system is struggling and constantly under attack by the RSF. The flow of aid into Sudan has not increased either and that is also due to the RSF threatening aid groups, blocking access, and stealing the aid for themselves.
