Posing leftists down

One thing that I did not think about would be the amount of self-described “leftists” that would summersault onto the Kamala Harris bandwagon. Leftists do not support genocide and do support human rights. Kamala Harris will do nothing to end Israel’s genocide against innocent Palestinians, or the genocide in Sudan, or provide assistance to Haitians, or make any effort to protect human rights in the US and around the world. Harris tows the Democratic Party line so nothing will change between her and Joe Biden as president.

It would be wonderful to have a Black woman as president. I get that many are simply viewing the nomination as such. It’s anything but that, though.

This shouldn’t be the way that a Black woman is nominated for president. It shouldn’t be because they need a replacement. It should be because that person is best suited to be president, and that the party is united and enthusiastic about this person as their nominee. None of these necessary boxes are checked here. The public is simply relieved that Biden, who is unfit for the job as president, is not running and that someone with cognitive abilities to handle the job is taking over the nomination.

Who would want to run for president as the second choice that was shoved through because the last guy could not remember what year it was?

To add to that, Harris did so poorly when she did run for president that she is widely viewed in the Democratic Party as a non-contender.

Years ago I was a big Harris supporter. Things have changed for me because Harris and Biden did not keep the promises they campaigned on. I was also a big Biden supporter but the second he began building border walls, I jumped ship because the writing was on the wall. The same goes for Harris. I can admit that I was naive and fell for the performative speech, but reality quickly adjusted my perspective and it became apparent that this is the way of the Democrats as a whole.

But there are many “leftists” that are fully endorsing Kamala Harris and it is disappointing to see so that these “leftists” are just another moderate conservative in disguise.

There are no excuses to support and endorse any of the Democrats because they are funding and arming Israel. They are writing legislation to ban and attack protesting. They are labeling criticism of Israel as antisemitic. They are doing nothing to protect abortion rights. They have done nothing to address the Supreme Court’s abuse of power. They are opening federal lands for mines and solar farms that destroy ecosystems. They are the Democrats and anyone that votes for Democrats is a moderate conservative because all of these policies are the policies that conservatives support.

Do people think Harris will magically change all of this? No, she has helped pass all of this and fully agrees with these oppressive laws that her party passed.

There might have been a few “leftists” lost to the conservatives, but did the people that have outed themselves as conservatives ever really agree with leftism? I’m going with a solid no.

The best way to look at this is the actual left has lost some posers, and that’s a very good thing. The leftists that remain can at least now know that other leftists are there for the same reason- protecting and standing for human rights and protecting our planet.
