US Says Israel Will Be In Charge of Gaza and Continues No Red Line Policy

In one breath the White House states that Israel should not be in charge of Palestine, but in the next breath Secretary of State Blinken says, “I think Israel will, for an indefinite period, will have the overall security responsibility because we’ve seen what happens when we don’t have it.” The US is implying that Gaza is run by Hamas, but the Palestinian Authority is the governing body of Gaza. Claiming that Gaza is run by Hamas allows the US to twist the truth so that Israel has some right to rule Gaza, based on fabrications which would make it unjust, unethical, and inhumane.

Indefinite period. In other words forever. This has been the goal for Gaza since Israel began the siege. The US completely flipped their position on Israel’s role in Gaza, and while they are trying to do this quietly and using falsehoods as justification, this position flip is significant and disturbing. Biden made it clear that Israel would not be ruling Gaza, but now they are in charge of “overall security” (which means they run Gaza) and they have this power of “overall security” for an “Indefinite period.” The US is giving Gaza to Israel permanently. How did the US become the authority of who is to govern Gaza? They have no say here, and other world powers must make that clear.

The US acts like it runs the world because the world allows this to continue. World leaders need to check the power of the US before humanity is completely lost to a deluded nation who has lost its way. Ethics before profit. Don’t let trade or contracts from the US continue to lure you into losing further power.

Not only is the US giving Israel carte blanche with their military actions, always excusing Israeli war crimes as “Israel’s right to defend,” but they are also continuing their “no red line” policy regarding the death toll of innocent Palestinians that has climbed to over 10,000. The White House brushed the question off as if it even needed to be asked. That is how the US government feels toward 10,328 innocent Palestinians who have perished, and also the Palestinians trying to survive. This callousness is appalling. The depravity has no end.

Israel has the freedom to do what it wants in Gaza because the US has thrown money and their own military into the war to show how much they support Israel, but also as a threat to the neighboring nations and world. Both countries commit these war crimes and genocide while looking at the world knowing that no other powers will check them.

Blinken warned the neighboring nations, and specifically Iran, that if they were to interfere or threaten US military, that they would take any necessary step to protect the US military. This is very open-ended as was the intention because any action can be classified as an aggression. This threat is multi-faceted.

It seems as if further war is inevitable. Israel refuses to listen. The US refuses to listen. The US purposely derails resolutions in the UN for a ceasefire. World leaders remain silent. Citizens around the world witness the suffering of the Palestinians and want action from their governments but none comes. Unrest turns to turmoil, turns to conflict, turns to war. When people are no longer heard, they speak through violence because they were taught this through their oppressors actions. This also applies to the nations that are silenced and attempting to help Palestinians, forced to violence when their words as a sovereign nation are ignored. War will spread if diplomacy continues to fail.

Even through diplomatic means, the US ignores the plight of Palestinians and delegitimizes their government. The Palestinian Authority continues to attempt diplomacy with the US, but the US clearly does not respect either their sovereignty or authority. President Abbas should call for a forum from the ICC for the Genocide Convention. He alone has the power to do so, and Palestine is a member. Why hasn’t he? There must be pressure put here. We must call for a forum with the ICC for the Genocide Convention. It is extremely concerning that Abbas has not stepped in to protect the people of Palestine. This is one thing that he has control over, and he is also silent.

We need a resolution from the Security Council. We need a forum in the Genocide Convention. We need world leaders to rebuke both Israel and the US and check their power (sanction, embargo, cut ties).

WE NEED AN IMMEDIATE, PERMANENT CEASEFIRE.
