The death toll of innocent Palestinians is over 10,000. Hospitals are almost out of fuel. There is no anesthesia and little medicine. There is dwindling amounts of clean water, most Palestinians are dehydrated. The bombing from Israel is is unceasing. Palestinians making their way south to the Rafah border as directed by the IDF, are being killed by the IDF. Palestinians are terrified of making the arduous and deadly trip to the south. Many Palestinians cannot travel due to disability, illness, or pregnancy and face either bombardment from Israel or their ground troops. Hospitals are bombed. Water towers are bombed. Fishing boats are bombed. Bakeries are bombed. Places of worship are bombed. Schools are bombed. Humanitarian organizations are bombed. There is no where safe. There is no safe zone.
Israel has used such a disturbing amount of bombs on Gaza, equivalent to two nuclear bombs.
The UN has written a letter cosigned by 18 UN agencies demanding a ceasefire and release of hostages. Israel has made no indication they would respect a ceasefire or a pause in fighting. They have previously removed visas to the UN officials for criticizing Israel.
Secretary of State Blinken visited Israel, Iraq, the Palestinian Authority, and Turkey over the weekend to meet with Middle Eastern allies to the US and ensure the safety of these allies. Even after meeting with the head of the Palestinian Authority, Abbas, there was no leeway given for a ceasefire. Blinken claims that Hamas would gain the upper hand if there were a ceasefire. There is no regard for human life with this statement or human rights. Blinken also sent out a stern warning to nations that might join the fight. Today his message was followed with the announcement that a nuclear submarine is also on the way out to the Middle Eastern seas. There are multiple aircraft carrier from the US already positioned in the region from October, along with smaller warships. Now, they have sent a nuclear submarine.
The US is outright threatening any Middle Eastern nation that might fight against Israel.
What is very interesting from the meeting with leaders in Iraq, was the uprising these countries are facing. There is unrest in the nations of the Middle East that support the US and Israel. The people of these countries want to help Palestinians and expect their governments to aid Palestinians. The US and Arab leaders are concerned that with further war, the unrest in these nations might grow to a much larger conflict.
US officials claim that they are making appeals to the Israeli government for a humanitarian pause but they also follow these claims with the assertion that Israel has the right to protect their country. The US acts powerless to the might of Israel. The US funds the IDF. The US is sending 14 billion in military aid to Israel. The US sends 3 billion annually for the IDF. The US has sent warships to the region to further assist the threats of Israel. The US cannot play both games. They actively fund Israel and military decisions are shared with the US. It is beyond reproach to state that the US has no sway over Israel. Meanwhile the US openly threatens neighboring Arab nations with US military forces, demonstrating how much sway they have over nations they do not fund. The US has many options to force a ceasefire on Israel: rescind funding, rescind military aid, cut off diplomatic relationships, sanction, embargo, and also use military threats on Israel. The US so openly threatens other nations with military action, why do they not threaten Israel with military action if they do not comply? The US joined WWII in order to preserve humanity and end the genocide. We are under similar circumstances, but the US is allowing the genocide and threatening anyone opposing the genocide. The US says they are powerless in regards to enforcing a humanitarian pause on Israel, yet they poise naval assets in the Middle Eastern seas to silence dissent and as a massive show of power. The US is not trying to end genocide, but to allow it to continue.
Will other Middle Eastern nations join the fight and attack Israel? Yemen has declared war and is sending drones and missiles to Israel. They are a part of the Axis of Resistance, and other members might also join Yemen in war on Israel.
The UN Security Council are meeting to hopefully create a binding peace resolution for Gaza. This is the only international body that can impose a legally binding resolution on Israel. This desperately needs to pass.
Palestine needs peace. Palestine needs an immediate ceasefire. Palestine needs aid, medicine, water, fuel, and food.
