The Sudanese have no aid entering into Sudan because both the SAF and RSF are restricting all access of entries and roads. Both warring parties are blocking food, medicine, and water from millions of innocent Sudanese who are dying of starvation and now there is a rise in cholera due to the lack of medicine. WHO has stated that 8.5 million Sudanese are at an emergency level of food insecurity. This could all be alleviated and food provided to the millions without any access if both sides could acknowledge the suffering and help the Sudanese, which is incredibly sad that both the RSF and SAF claim to be fighting for the Sudanese people but all they are doing in actuality is killing, torturing, and starving them to death.
NPR: Yes there is famine in Sudan. So why isn’t ‘famine’ being declared?
Well that is because of the SAF. The SAF is refusing to declare the famine which leaves millions of people without the humanitarian aid and assistance that is needed. They could be allowing access and entry into Sudan for humanitarian organizations that are ready to bring in aid from Chad, and they have given permission but aid has been stalled still. Not just the deadly restrictions on entry into Sudan, the SAF should provide protection and safeguard aid workers and supplies. Sudan would not be experiencing a famine if the SAF truly cared for the Sudanese people. Now that the situation in Sudan has deteriorated to the point that it has, civilians are starving and comes after a large death toll has proved a famine is taking place which means it is already past the breaking point. Intentionally starving your own people should result in sanctions against SAF leaders.
The New Arab: Sudan’s RSF killed 85 people in central village ‘massacre’, residents say
Just because the RSF is at the Geneva peace talks, does that mean the RSF wants peace. This would be case in point. Galgani was attacked by the RSF and 85 people were killed and 115 injured in the attack. The residents of Galgani tried to fight back and were able to hold off the RSF, but the RSF returned with a vengeance and slaughtered innocent people trying to defend their homes. The town was looted and parts were set ablaze. These are the actions of a terrorist group and they should be labeled as such and sanctioned as such by every government.
Al Jazeera: What has caused the cholera outbreak in Sudan?
Not just a genocide and a famine, but now there is an outbreak of cholera due to the floods from recent rains across Sudan. There have been 78 deaths due to the outbreak. Flooding and contaminated water are the contributing factors that so many are contracting and dying from cholera. What is needed is for vaccines to be distributed and administered around the country, but this will need cooperation from the SAF and RSF which are already banning entry for aid and food.

The New Arab: What the stalled Geneva peace talks mean for Sudan’s war
The SAF has refused to join in the peace talks in Geneva so now they are agreeing to send top military officials to meet with the US and Egyptian leaders to mediate a path to peace. Both sides have failed their commitments to the previous talks and both should be held accountable for war crimes, but neither wants to admit their crimes and continues the atrocities. Sudan needs peace talks and it is disheartening to see the SAF boycott the talks, while their concerns were valid, but they are also at fault as well, and what is more important is the suffering taking place in Sudan. What the Sudanese people need is for a united international community to hold both sides accountable and provide concrete and actionable plans to end the genocide. Leaders need to offer another set of talks and leave the outside actors out of these discussions.
