Hi.

Thank you for visiting A World Betwixt Worlds. New content is added weekly.

'No one is above the law' were Biden's words but he doesn't really believe that. He has set himself and Israel above the law

While Israel is considering invading Lebanon and Israeli citizens storm a concentration camp holding Palestinian prisoners over their demand that the rape of Palestinians should not be charged, there is little condemnation from world leaders and not a word from the US government over Israel’s continued war crimes and exacerbating a greater war.

President Biden is all about those optics to make the Democratic Party, and himself, appear that they are not exactly what they are, imperialist oppressors. He just announced legislation for addressing the rampant abuse of power within the Supreme Court, but it is nothing more than a mild attempt at rebalancing the checks and balances. Biden has offered up his idea at fixing this system with 18 year term limits. 18 years?! No. Let’s change that to 5-year term limits. If Biden really wanted to reform the Supreme Court, he would have to go a lot further than a mild 18-year term limit and some sort of “code of ethics” which sounds a lot like the Leahy Law that sounds like something greater than what it is in order to keep up appearances.

Biden’s legislation won’t pass and he knows it. Just like the Democrats legislation won’t pass and they know it. It is all about making it seem like they care about rights while not ever really trying. They just need voters to think they care, when they don’t and know nothing will come from this legislation.

Israel is raping Palestinian prisoners. Where is the outrage there?

Biden is not above the law and implying that his fellow conservatives are not getting away with breaking laws, is ironic because he is also getting away with the war crimes he is committing and has committed. He knows this, which is why this judicial reform will get no where because they don’t want it to get anywhere. They want this system to stay in place because it benefits them.

The outrage from the US is all directed at Venezuela and the US’ attempt to push a candidate for president, and the US-backed candidate lost to President Maduro. Most of the media is going with the US narrative so it seems that the race was questionable, but that is not the case for actual questionable elections like in DRC recently.

But a change could be in store for the Israeli war on Gaza. The UK is reportedly going to be cutting off arms shipments to Israel now that there is a more left leaning government in place. The newly elected UK government has already vowed to support the ICC’s request for arrest of Netanyahu, and this would be a logical and ethically necessary step if they are vowing to support the ICC’s request.

The UK taking these measures to support a ceasefire and hold Israel accountable is how to show that “no one is above the law.”

It also means that the US government might also face some accountability in their role over the genocide and deservedly so. They all should be removed from office and sent to The Hague for war crimes.

From the river to the sea, may Palestine be free. May the whole world be free.
