Hi.

Thank you for visiting A World Betwixt Worlds. New content is added weekly.

Where do I even start? Israel IS invading Rafah but there are NO repercussions and NO red lines as promised

  1. Biden promised to cut off Israel if they invaded Rafah.

  2. Israel bombs and kills hundreds in Rafah.

  3. Biden “it isn’t an invasion”.

  4. The aid pier that the US built is destroyed.

  5. Barely any aid is entering Gaza.

  6. ICJ tells Israel not to continue attacks. Israel increases their attacks but no leader or government is holding them accountable with sanctions or cutting off arms shipments (arms embargo)

No aid is entering Gaza. The pier the US constructed to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars is drifting in the sea. That energy and time could have been spent on pushing Israel to open the crossings for aid but the US government had to create this ineffective bandaid so it looks like they are doing something and that they care, but just not enough to actually do anything that would save Palestinians lives.

So now we have a ruling from the ICJ. We have possible arrest warrants for Israeli leaders. What we don’t have are actions from world leaders that would hold Israel accountable through sanctions and embargoes. Beyond Turkey, no country has placed economic pressure on Israel. There’s been much posturing like removing ambassadors and diplomats, but again, that’s a performative measure and not a means to end a genocide.

Why are world leaders not cutting off Israel? Everyone needs to questions them as to why they refuse to sanction and embargo Israel and also understand why they still have not taken a firm position against Israel’s genocide of innocent Palestinians.

These world leaders are terrified of the US and the vindictive payback the US would incur on those that oppose Israel and try to hold them responsible. Just look at the legislators and the vitriol they are spewing at the ICC and the ICJ. They are proposing bills to sanction members of both courts and to bar their entry to the US (which the US has done in the past). These US legislators has openly intimidated and harassed other countries that support Palestine or those that have taken steps to address Israel’s war crimes. US elected officials are making open threats to any leaders or governments that don’t support Israel completely, which is absolutely terrifying that these people are in a place of power and are attacking leaders and countries that support human rights.

These people should not be in office. These people all must be voted out. A democracy does not exist with people in power who out rightly oppresses rights but endorses and funds a genocide of innocent people.

Then we have the broken promises we are continually being fed from Biden administration but also from congress because they are all in lock step with Biden, for the most part. Again, this is why they need to be voted out. Biden said he would cut off arms shipments to Israel if they invaded Rafah. Israel has tanks in Rafah and is in control of the Egyptian crossing from Gaza into Egypt now (on the Gaza side of the crossing). Israel has bombed tents with families who were displaced and forced into Rafah killing hundreds of innocent Palestinians. It was Israel’s response to the missile attacks from Hamas that successfully hit Israel, but Israel responded with bombing families. The pictures from these deadly air strikes were so disturbing and depraved, to not see the world moved by this new low that Israel has created with massacring children and women. Still, even with these reports of these atrocities, the US does not term these actions as an invasion. Israel is clearly invading Rafah and it is deceptive to call it anything other than what is actually occurring.

Is Biden currently sending arms shipments to Israel? What will it take to get Biden to admit that Israel is in fact invading Rafah? He is never going to withhold weapons to Israel. This man cannot be trusted.

And then there is the matter of the aid pier that is floating out in the ocean. This cost American taxpayers hundreds of millions of dollars thrown away. There is very little aid entering Gaza which is making the famine all the worse. Nothing is being done to get more aid into Gaza. World leaders should be condemning Israel for withholding supplies into Gaza and take steps to address Israel’s horrific war crimes, that Israel continues with their genocide, but more countries are too scared to sanction or embargo Israel.

This is why they all must be voted out. Every country around this world needs to restructure the power dynamics and ensure that the people are the one’s in power.

If world leaders and governments respected international law, they would sanction Israel and embargo Israel as their response to Israel’s crimes against humanity which the court has stated that Israel has committed. They did this for Ukraine and sanctioned and embargoed Russia, but they do not do the same for Israel that is bombing refugee camps and starving millions of Palestinians. If leaders truly cared for human rights and the suffering of millions of Palestinians, they would have taken steps toward cutting off economic ties with Israel. They are not showing the same stance on human rights as they did with Ukraine. They cannot be trusted.

It’s time for a change. It’s time for the power to be in the hands of the people.

From the river to the sea, may Palestine be free. May the whole world be free.
