Hi.

Thank you for visiting A World Betwixt Worlds. New content is added weekly.

Hats off to protesters demonstrating outside the DNC and to ALL protesters worldwide taking a stand for human rights

Over 200 groups have united to protest the Democratic National Convention. That is absolutely amazing!

These people give me hope. They are such brave human beings who are giving their time, energy, and face the threat of violence from police or pro-genocide supporters. Protesting works. Protesting really works when it is not abated. Look at how protesting has changed than entire government in Bangladesh and how pro-Palestine protesters have pushed the Turkish government to enact trade sanctions on Israel.

Colombia has cut off coal exports to Israel.

Scotland is cutting off diplomatic relations with Israel.

These are the results of protests. Do not stop. These are human rights and should be protected and fought for.

So the Democrats released their party platform… Here are my thoughts on just the Democrats stance on Gaza:

  • The Democratic Party lays direct blame of the war on Hamas and fully supports Israel and “their right to defend themselves”. This has me out the door already. To not find any fault with Israel shows where the Democrats stand and that is for genocide and the elimination of human rights.

  • What a reversal the Dems have had over Saudi Arabia and the UAE! Years ago they would have refused sale of arms due to human rights abuses, but now that these countries play an integral role in the war on Gaza, the help they have given the US and Israel in the war on Gaza is used as achievements in Middle East relations.

  • Then the Dems brag that Biden is trying to militarily bully the Houthis so as to make the Democrats look tougher than their fellow conservatives, the GOP. This is one way to really see that mask slip and know who the Dems really are, when they talk up their military might and how much of a war hawk they really are.

  • Am I embarrassed for the Democrats when they touted Prosperity Guardian as a good thing in their party platform? Yes, I am. It sounds like such an elitist, capitalist, and militarist program which makes it all the more cringe. The fact that the Dems are as unaware as they are to hype a military program is what a conservative would do.

  • LOL, they called Trump weak! This is in terms of how Trump has handled Iran in the past. The Dems are going extreme war hawk mode.

  • There is no discussion about Israel’s war crimes. This is extremely alarming. This is why protesters need to continue to protest. The Dems say they are against annexation but then Israel is taking Palestinian land in the West Bank and it is neither condemned or action taken against Israel for illegally taking land from Palestinians who rightfully own it.

  • The fact that this directly calls out the BDS movement and the UN for singling out Israel is outright appalling. BDS is one way an individual can have an impact and the UN is in ways trying to protect human rights through international law. This platform is attacking both and that is not what a party on the left would do.

**I am going to read through both party platforms, break the issues down, and give my thoughts in an upcoming post.

The Democratic Party’s stance on the Middle East is pro-Zionist and anti-human rights and anti-international humanitarian law. This is why it is so imperative that protesters keep that momentum going and do not cease until Palestine is free and all the genocides cease around the world and everyone is free.

Dems are telling the world who they are- they’re conservatives that refuse to respect human rights but want to be perceived that they do.

Dems are very upset at being called out for their performative actions and lies. Good job, protesters. They’re going to get angrier because they can’t handle the fact that they are conservatives so they attack actual leftists because they can’t acknowledge their conservatism. Liberals are laying into protesters and asking why they are out in numbers calling out the DNC. They don’t like the fact that they’re conservatives and it’s angering them.

How funny is it that liberas are attacking freedom of speech for peaceful protesters? If they really stood for freedom of speech like they grandly proclaim that they do, they wouldn’t be upset over demonstrations. They are upset because they are being called out and they know that the protesters are right.

Go get ‘em, protesters! You have my support and admiration for your bravery and your strength.

From the river to the sea, may Palestine be free. May the whole world be free.

**I just want to note that most of the media is spinning the protests like police have to be ready for their violence. Violence stems from police brutality and outside agitators attacking pro-Palestinian protesters. The media wants the public to be scared of the protests, that is the intent with this spin.
