What is up is down, and what is down is up. We have officially entered the rabbit hole and are tumbling together.
If hypocrisy had a party it would be the Democrats. The Republicans put their loathsome hate on full display for their supporters. The Democrats in elected office are the biggest hypocrites and they completely deserve this dubious title because they are all attempting to deceive their constituency into thinking they are upholding human rights, progressive policies, or even their word, but none of the Democrats are proving they support anything but regressive and inhumane policies. Their word means nothing and Senator Van Hollen has perfectly demonstrated the deceptive tactics of the Democratic Party.
Don’t listen to what they say, look at what they do. This is the most important rule to follow with members of the Democratic Party. Look at their voting records and the issues they actually support, endorse, and vote on.
Van Hollen went on the senate floor and gave an impassioned speech about the war crimes Israel has committed and the intense suffering in Gaza. You can watch his speech here on Twitter (X) which the senator provided on his Twitter profile. This speech would lead one to think that Van Hollen would vote against the Israel/Ukraine funding bill, but like all the Democrats that also voted for it (only two Democratic senators did not), they have never taken any definitive step to protect the lives of innocent Palestinians when faced with the option to do so. There words are nothing more than performative lies for perception. The actuality of their actions clearly show what the Democrats support, and that is oppression, no different than the Republicans other than their lies to try to hide their true intent.
In Van Hollen’s little performance in the senate, he dramatically accused Israel of “The overriding message to the United States from the Netanyahu coalition is this: ‘Thanks for giving us all the weapons. Thanks for your taxpayer support. But don’t lecture us about civilian casualties or the need to better facilitate the delivery of humanitarian assistance.’” He then goes onto attack Netanyahu and his supporters for their “dehumanizing” agenda toward Palestinians. If he felt that way, he sure did not vote that way. After this big song and dance number, Van Hollen voted to give Israel 14 billion dollars in military funding and arms just as he had criticized Israel of manipulating the US, while this senator is ultimately manipulating voters with his words which are inconsistent with his actions. He asked emphatically in this performance, “What should we do?” in regards to Israel’s brazen war crimes but he never answers the question. His answer was to vote for more military funding and arms for Israel.
“That is a textbook war crime. And that makes those who orchestrate it, war criminals.” Who is going to tell him that he is helping Israel orchestrate it so he is also a war criminal? Using his own words and logic, he and all the elected officials who have voted on this funding bill to Israel, should be tried in The Hague (as they all should).
Van Hollen also said that, “American taxpayer dollars should be used in line with our values and interests.” Sir, you and the entire Senate that voted on this incredibly un-American funding package are using our tax dollars to fund war crimes, wars, and policies that the American people do not support and demand that their money be spent funding American programs that are desperately needed.
It is a bizarre tactic to deliver such a speech on humanity and the death and destruction that Palestinians are facing, and then vote for their death and destruction. Is it delusion? It is. Democrats see nothing wrong with their hypocrisy. What they do deem as unacceptable actions is if anyone questions their hypocrisy because it seems like they disassociate when they vote in order to forget what they actually stand for, and they think their words are above their actions. They are wrong. You are your actions. There is no way to avoid this. Our words do count because these are thoughts that we are presenting to the world, but your actions define you as they should follow through with what you think. If not, that person is a hypocrite.
The major issue that American voters are realizing is how untrustworthy the Democrats are. The other massive problem is the attacks on those who question Democrats. The pro-Biden contingency and pundits are on a tear, ripping down anyone who dares question Biden’s competency. Both Biden and Trump should not be running due to their age and apparent cognitive decline. It’s concerning that their campaigns are pushing them to run when they should be transitioning them to retire. Even Jon Stewart is fending off fellow “liberals” because they are upset over Stewart’s valid worry over Biden’s condition. At least Jon Stewart is voicing his opinion and also bringing up the “liberals” attacks on dissent and those questioning Biden’s competency and his actions.
The Biden administration even posted an odd meme on Twitter (X) of the president with glowing red eyes a la’ “Dark Brandon,” and writing, “Just like we drew it up,” while the bombing of Rafah was taking place. Was this in reference to the bombing of Rafah? Was this in reference to the Super Bowl? Was this in reference to the senate vote supporting military funding for Israel’s genocide? It was an ambiguous statement, but the timing and the tone were morally bereft. That post was outright disturbing. This is what a war criminal posts that acts with impunity and flaunts their crimes.
We are falling fast down the rabbit hole. Where we will end up, no one knows.
We have no one in office to trust. We don’t have representation. We have no elected officials in office that listen to their constituency.
What we can do is vote them all out. What we can do is vote 3rd party to break up the two-party system that is actively oppressing Americans. This two-party system serves no one but those in power and those with money. Unless you fall under either of those two categories, this voting structure silences American voters and diminishes our impact.
This genocide bill has not yet passed the House of Representatives. In the rabbit hole we are falling down, the Republicans might be the party that kills this bill. Even Van Hollen is pushing for the House to vote it, but Speaker Mike Johnson has been clear that he does not support it and might not allow a vote on it.
Vote them all out.
