A huge thank you and much respect to the countries of Bolivia, Chile, Jordan, and Colombia for being the first nations to take action and hold Israel accountable. Bolivia has broken diplomatic relations with Israel. Chile recalls their ambassadors from Israel. Jordan also recalls their ambassadors from Israel. Colombia has directly called the actions of Israel a genocide and cut ties with Israel if they do not allow a ceasefire in Gaza.
*Update: Colombia has now recalled their ambassadors and cut ties with Israel.
We need more nations to take such actions. We need other world powers to take even greater action by cutting trade off with Israel and the US. All of these responding countries need to also include the US and not just Israel in ceasing diplomatic relations.
If you are a voter in one of the 120 nations that supported the Jordan resolution, please contact your elected official and urge them to cut diplomatic relations and all trade with Israel and the US until a ceasefire is permanently enforced.
Also, a thank you to the UN official, Craig Mokhiber, who resigned out of disgust over the genocide and war crimes against Palestinians and the inaction of the UN and world leaders. Those are the steps taken of someone living the principles they uphold, and is highly respected and admirable.
More people within the bureaucracy across the world should make a stance like Mr. Mokhiber. If your country or organization that you represent supports the actions of Israel, impeding the ceasefire, silences opposition, or attacks pro-Palestinian sentiment, leave the position and be a voice for change.
Another small step forward, the Rafah border crossing is open. This is both a blessing but also a curse. Many Palestinians fear crossing the border, and they have cause to fear crossing because they will not be allowed back into Gaza. There is safety in Egypt and that is truly a blessing. However, Israel has already pushed Palestinians into Egypt in the past and they fear that this is repeating. The Israeli government has stated that they are purposely making Gaza uninhabitable in order to annex Gaza. Palestinians deserve assurances that they will be allowed back into Gaza. World leaders and the UN must uphold the Palestinians land rights and ensure that Israel respects them.
What extreme horrors await those who cannot flee to Egypt? There are Palestinians who are disabled, sick, injured and cannot make it to the border. How will these Palestinians who cannot travel be protected?
A ceasefire must be called immediately. World leaders, bureaucrats, government officials, and the like must take a stand for human rights. Find your voice and don’t fear. The wrong is in not standing for human rights.
Show your support for these countries and people that have made a stand. Please spend your money, include businesses from these countries, and buy goods from those who have stood against genocide.
This is a long battle for human rights that does not end in Gaza. This problem is systemic. This is why elected officials across the world must be voted out, the problem runs deep and must be addressed. If any official has supported Israel, silenced opposition, or remained silent during the siege on Gaza, they must go. Their actions continue the oppression, the death, and the silencing of innocent people worldwide.
There are many other countries that suffer from genocide and war crimes. The people of Sudan, Congo, and Armenia are currently under threat and the innocent civilians are being massacred in genocide as war crimes are committed. These people also need our energy and voices. No person anywhere on this planet should fear their safety, their human rights should always be respected. For peace across this world, we need changes now.
They all deserve freedom and peace. They deserve a lifetime of happiness. They are living in hell, and trapped there to die.
We each have a voice. Please use it for those who are being silenced.
Protest. Volunteer. Boycott. Support the countries who took diplomatic actions against Israel. Contact elected officials for a ceasefire. Share the stories from Palestine, Sudan, Congo, and Armenia. Donate to humanitarian organizations.
