The death and depravity continues in Gaza as Israel targets the “safe zones” they have ordered Palestinians to relocate to, but where do Palestinians go from here? Tanks are moving into the safe zones in the south and north Gaza, so where do Palestinians go? They cannot make it to central Gaza easily with fighting in the north and the south. How are they to travel to central Gaza when all paths are blocked? This has been a repeated issue for displaced people in Gaza. It is a greater issue that Israel does not respect the Geneva Convention and not attack safe zones, but this is the very place Israel attacks the hardest.
It is obvious that Israel is targeting civilians and trying to kill as many innocent Palestinians as possible so they can annex the land. This continual forced displacement of suffering people who have little food and little medicine is a way for Israel to kill a larger amount of Palestinians. The fact that no countries call out Israel for their war crimes in not recognizing safe zones, humanitarian corridors, or civilian populations, is an abhorrent reality that voters around the world need to understand because this means that our elected leaders are complicit if they are not condemning and holding Israel accountable.
For any country to do business with Israel, for countries to not sanction Israel, for governments to send arms, for leaders to send funding to Israel, are all actions of governments that are complicit in war crimes.
Cut Israel off completely and any countries that support them. It is that simple, yet few have taken strong economic or diplomatic responses to hold Israel to account. Why? Because they fear the repercussions of the US and western powers. They also do not want to disrupt their potential profits from dealing with the US and western powers.
This is why all elected leaders need to go. This is why we need a worldwide strike. This is why we need to overhaul our governments and power structures.
This world is in desperate need for a reset.
Supporters of Palestine are dwindling in numbers. It could be because they have lost hope. It could be because the world is deteriorating and they are overwhelmed. It could be because they never really cared in the first place. Please do not give into complacency and silence. It is easy to choose superficial aspects of life to fill the day, and it takes a special kind of person to keep up with the moral endurance that is required to fight against a genocide. It is not an easy thing. Give yourself time to process your pain and loss of hope, but always remember there are Palestinians that are being silenced and have no access to basic necessities. They need you and your voice. They need your commitment even on the days that are difficult.
These new ground assaults across Gaza show that Israel is not slowing down their massacre even though the media outlets put out bogus reports that the IDF is choosing to curb operations in Gaza and focus on Lebanon. Instead, they are sustaining their present objective of completely obliterating Gaza and all Palestinians.
Keep fighting for a free Palestine.
Keep protesting.
Keep boycotting.
Keep sharing the news from Gaza.
From the river to the sea, may Palestine be free. May the whole world be free.
