Hi.

Thank you for visiting A World Betwixt Worlds. New content is added weekly.

Sudan is experiencing famine and genocide, stop saying it 'may'. World leaders could end the war but remain inactive

There has been no good news out of Sudan about any possibility of peace. There has been nothing but reports of possible famine and ethnic cleansing but no one is calling it what it is- a genocide and a famine. These are atrocities that innocent Sudanese dying through violence or lack of food is clearly a genocide along with the purposeful starvation of Sudanese perpetrated by the RSF, and at times from the SAF. While countries have created sanctions for the RSF and the UAE, they have not targeted the top officials of the RSF or the suppliers of arms out of the UAE. If countries want the genocide and famine to end in Sudan, then they need to take action along with their words or concerns for Sudan. All who have sanctioned the RSF and UAE can add to their sanctions and uphold a united arms embargo on all of Sudan, just like the US has done when they increased sanctions on Russia, but the US is not taking the same action regarding Sudan. Millions of lives are at stake and nothing is being done for Sudan.

There would be no genocide if the RSF were not funded and armed through the UAE. The RSF has sought to topple the SAF and gain control of Sudan, and the UAE would greatly profit from the change in power so they have sent weapons and funds to the RSF.

Where can the Sudanese refugees go to that is safe? There is no where that is safe in Sudan so many are fleeing to other countries like Chad or Egypt, but they are despised and unwelcome.

The Guardian: EU-funded Egyptian forces ‘rounding up and deporting Sudanese refugees’

There is no where safe in Sudan. They are not welcome in Chad or Egypt, so where can Sudanese refugees seek safety?

So what can be done?

This article actually states solutions that are achievable and would ensure peace in Sudan. If there is an article you share this week, this is one that explains what is currently taking place in Sudan and solutions which would facilitate a permanent ceasefire if they are employed by countries around the world and international institutions. The only aspect that should be added is that the Sudanese should decide if they want a peacekeeping force to enter Sudan. That is a decision that only the Sudanese can and should make, but this is a difficult answer to gather when genocide and famine are taking place. For the genocide in Sudan to end, there needs to be more sanctions and an arms embargo that is upheld by members of the UN, EU, and AU. While this is addressed to the EU, it should be addressed to every country and international institution like the UN.

Call it what is should be called: an ongoing genocide and famine.

May the whole world be free.

Boycott gold and goods from the UAE.

Never give up your rights

Demand sanctions for the RSF, UAE, Chad, SAF, Iran, and Egypt.

Demand an arms embargo for all warring parties in Sudan.

Please extend your energy to other countries and people facing atrocities and genocide in Palestine, DRC, Haiti, West Papua, the Rohingyas, Armenians, and the Uyghurs.

No one should be buying the little performance from the US and Israel. If countries do not hold Israel accountable, the war will spread into Lebanon
