The impacts of abortion bans. Stories from across the US

Pregnant people should have the decision on whether to carry or not. No state should govern over a person’s body and life. 17 states have a complete abortion ban. Pregnant people’s lives are at risk eliminating this crucial procedure. Without access to an abortion, some might be left with life-altering repercussions to their health and may never be able to carry a pregnancy ever as a result. Many that are seeking abortions in states with full bans, must leave their state, but that is if they have the financial means to do so, leaving many pregnant people forced to carry a pregnancy against their choice.

Louisiana:

The Washington Post: Louisiana moves to make abortion pills “controlled dangerous substance”

Mifepristone and misoprostil might be labeled and treated as a “controlled dangerous substance” in Louisiana which would impact the access to these drugs that are used outside of abortions for other procedures like IUD insertions or for cancer patients.

Tennessee:

WKRN: Data: Fewer OBCGYNs choosing TN for residency since abortion ban

Women cannot find OBGYN’s in many parts of Tennessee, which puts all women at risk for their healthcare not being addressed or supported by their own representatives.

Florida:

WTSP: Florida mom forced to give birth to baby she knew would die

This story brought me to tears. This story is about the impact these bans have on pregnant people and their families. May no one ever have to go through what this woman suffered and healing from and that the amendment to enshrine abortion in Florida pass this November. Vote pro-choice always.

The US:

The Washington Post: Abortion bans are repelling the nation’s future doctors.

These bans affect the greater healthcare system. Doctors are worried about going to jail and because of these bans, less doctors are choosing to go into gynecology and obstetrics which leaves entire states without healthcare providers for women.

The Hill: Nearly two-thirds of Americans want abortion access: Pew poll

States are not listening to their constituents. Everyone wants a person to be able to make their own choice regarding abortions and having access to them. These lawmakers must be voted out of office and a pregnant person’s right to choose must be enshrined on a state and federal level.

Vote pro-choice.

Vote any elected official that supports abortion bans out of office.

Conservatives, or "Liberals", are looking in the mirror and not liking what they are seeing, but instead of processing their conservatism, they are coming for everyone to their left
