A temporary ceasefire is being worked out, even though there is the UN resolution for a truce during Ramadan which was never respected or honored. Israel will only allow for a truce because their goal is a complete genocide of the Palestinian people and to annex all of Gaza, which they have stated is their plan from the start of the war on October 7.
Reportedly, Israel has pulled troops from southern Gaza. Israel may be pulling troops but they are also bombing Rafah, Syria, and Lebanon as they are pulling these troops. The news does not focus on the active killing and atrocities, it just highlights the alleged changes that Israel claims they are making.
Netanyahu does not want any form of a permanent ceasefire because he has his objective which is to take over Gaza and to eliminate as many Palestinians as he can. He said he a truce is fine, but he draws the line at “surrender” which he is equating with peace. When a leader views peace with failure, that is a massive red flag for fascism and enforcing a genocide.
When President Biden was asked if the US would withhold military aid for Israel, Biden responded that, “I asked them to do what they’re doing.” Netanyahu has the full support of Biden and nothing Israel does will ever affect that relationship. The US is funding and arming Israel’s genocide and they will not stop. They do not care about the aid workers that were killed. All the US has done in response to the aid workers deaths is to get Israel to make a bunch of promises, but anyone who understands Israel’s history with promises, they break them without hesitation. It is all just for performance. What

These things are not occurring and will never come to fruition because they are more empty promises that Israel makes in order to alleviate the pressure that has been put on them over their atrocities, but no countries ever hold Israel to their lies. It is all for show. Israel will turn around and make some excuse to blame Hamas for these promises being broken.
Are world leaders going to continue to permit Israel’s genocide? When will they create firm sanctions and embargoes on Israel and their arms suppliers? Will it cost all the lives of Palestine? What will it take for them to take meaningful action?
International law and humanity are being purposely ignored and erased. This world has changed and will continue to change with the horrific atrocities that are being disregarded.
We need leaders to take action.
