Hi.

Thank you for visiting A World Betwixt Worlds. New content is added weekly.

Trump: one court win, and one court loss. How is Trump a candidate? Shouldn't the US be worried he might incite another insurrection if he loses again?

Whether it be The Hague or a federal prison, Trump belongs behind bars. Between the attempted insurrection, fraud, illegal business deals, and sexual assault, Trump should be locked up and the fact that he is not shows just how broken the US justice system is. He should never have been eligible to be on any state ballot for the Republican primaries.

How can a president that tried to overthrow an election and endorsed the murderous plots against members of Congress be on a ballot?

The GOP is so foregone that they are irrelevant and can only be seen as what they are-radical religious extremists. Any elected official or supporter is someone who is a racist, religious zealot, capitalist, misogynist, and endorses a harshly oppressive system. They put this criminal up as their candidate as a representative of who they are. So they’re insurrectionists? If they don’t get their way, will they blow up federal buildings or attack elected officials? They are a dangerous entity and should be treated as such.

*Note- The GOP and Democrats paint pro-Palestinian supporters as someone to be scared of and that their advocation for a free Palestine is threatening. The GOP and Trump have openly tried to overthrow the government. Who is the actual dangerous one? Who is being treated like the dangerous one?

Unfortunately, the Democrats did not fight to push Trump into trial earlier and to eliminate his access to appearing on state ballots. It has been four years. How has this dragged on so long? Why has it taken three years to get Trump into court to be held accountable for his crimes? The issue comes from both the broken justice system and the feeble effort from the Democrats. Is it possible that Biden wanted Trump to be his opponent because he was hoping for what the Biden camp assumed would be an easy win?

This absurdly delayed trial against Trump has now been delayed further, thanks to the Supreme Court that is stacked with the ultra-conservative justices. With the insurrection case pushed back, Trump could potentially win the election and never be held to account for his role in inciting his supporters to overthrow the government after his last loss.

On the flip side of this, not just Colorado has an issue with Trump being on their ballot because Illinois has entered the conversation and has just ruled that Trump is ineligible to be listed as a candidate on their ballot due to his actions in the January 6th insurrection. It is worrying that more states are not removing him from their ballots due to his dangerous and deadly actions which violate the Constitution.

One thing that everyone does need to consider- what will happen if Trump loses again? This should be the first argument for having him removed from all ballots because he has shown intent to take down the government with force if he is not elected. What is to stop him a second time? Why would any state or the federal government allow for someone so dangerous to run for office and put American’s safety in jeopardy? Do they want there to be a civil war between Trump supporters and everyone else? It seems like those in power do want a civil war or another insurrection because the Constitution is clear that he cannot run.

Will Trump lose? He is polling higher than Biden in all of the polls.

How? How do American voters rationalize that Trump is a tolerable option for president? Trump is a criminal. Is that who Americans think should be the president? Those who are voting for Trump think that the cases against Trump are simply legal attacks against him to attack him and bring him down. These conservatives lack any sense of reality and the concept of accountability. Just like Trump, they do not acknowledge the deadly Capitol attack as what it was, an insurrection. These are people that want to be oppressed but want other people to be oppressed more than them so they can retain a sense of power, and that is why they vote for a dangerous oppressor.

How have the Democrats not pushed for earlier trials against Trump? If they really wanted justice, they would have had cases against him in February 2021, but they did not until now.

Both Trump and Biden are awful choices. I understand the intense frustration from other American voters, and that is why we all need to opt for third party voting. We do have options, and the more votes that go to other candidates outside the two main parties, then we will start to see change in our power structure.
