The genocide funding bill made even more inhumane now: Biden offering harsher immigration policies in order to pass Israel/Ukraine funding

Biden has backtracked on the border wall well before this genocide package, so his change on immigration policy was already rolling out. However, now he is going hardline conservative in order to get his proposed military aid to Israel and Ukraine funded. He is offering the harshest immigration policies that are actually concerning Hispanic Democrats who have been so far unfazed by Biden’s conservative policies. NOW, more Democrats are starting to question the president and his policies, and are actually comparing him to Trump.

It is welcome to see legislators question the president and be so disturbed over his actions. They should be upset because these policies are not progressive, liberal, or in line with anything that Biden had campaigned on regarding immigration.

Some Democrats are outright shocked at Biden’s proposal to sell out his immigration policies for harsher and inhumane policies backed by Republicans. These Democrats are not paying attention, though, or they would have called out the president’s building of the border wall and destroying fragile habitat and indigenous land. The truth is that they can no longer ignore the lies that Biden sold for his presidency and are seeing the reality under Biden, which is no different than a Trump presidency, and these Democrats are voicing their concerns.

On the table:

  • Biden is giving up the legal status of Dreamers and allowing for mass incarceration of undocumented persons in times of higher border crossings.

  • Mass arrests without hearings of undocumented people if the threshold of border crossings reaches a certain number.

  • Raising the criteria for asylum seekers to make it more difficult to seek asylum which is what most undocumented people at the border are seeking.

  • More deportations that are fast-tracked.

  • Expanding detentions and mass incarcerations.

Republicans are wanting to eliminate the humanitarian parole authority that allows a person seeking asylum the ability to live in the US if their country is at war and also allows migrants from certain countries that the US chooses if there are surges of at the border.

Hispanic Democrats are reeling from the changes in immigration policy coming from the White House. None of the Hispanic Caucus were included in these talks, and that was what the White House was intending in leaving out their voices and input. White House officials assured reporters that the Hispanic Caucus had regular input and dialogue with the administration, but HC members have made it clear that this was not the case. One member had a short dialogue with an administration official, but nothing came from the stinted conversation, other members have had no contact or input.

The most interesting aspect of this entire genocide funding debacle is that MANY people have not noticed the shift in the Biden administration’s overall policies toward the conservative stance. No one has brought up his 180-degree flip in the border wall construction that he campaigned on firmly stating he would not build a wall, and now a huge wall is going up and destroying delicate ecosystems and through indigenous land. THAT is not brought up right now. Many of these “progressives” are now realizing that President Biden is conservative, and they are now realizing who and what they are supporting if they continue to back Biden.

If a legislator supports this funding, they are supporting an extremely conservative package that embodies all that is inhumane, will destroy lives, commits war crimes, breaks international law, contribute to genocide of innocent Palestinians, and will affect thousands of innocent people around the world seeking safety.

It is extremely upsetting to me that there is little debate over the 14 billion dollars in funding that is proposed in this spending bill. Legislators should be equally appalled over the immigration policies AND funding a genocide, but it appears that they cannot multitask in their endeavors to uphold human rights. If you support human rights you would question both the funding of Israel’s war crimes and genocide and the cruel immigration policies within this bill.

These progressives are realizing that if they support this, they can no longer call themselves progressives. I wouldn’t call them progressives because they have allowed too much conservative and restrictive resolutions to pass at this point, and it has obviously emboldened the White House to push things even more conservatively.

It seems like the effect this bill is having on some legislators is pretty significant at least within the Hispanic Caucus. Biden is alienating not only the Hispanic legislators but will also alienate all of the Hispanic voters that overwhelmingly support improved immigration policies.

These harsh and cruel laws directed at undocumented people highlight the truth where President Biden actually stands, extremely conservative. Any Democrat that supports this is allowing for laws that Trump supported, and that they all actively denounced and campaigned against.

More than likely this funding and immigration bill will not get a vote this year as many of the legislators are leaving town for the holiday break.

This bill is deplorable, and it perfectly encapsulates who and what Biden is, a war criminal that funds genocide and wants to degrade the human rights of people seeking safety and work in the US. Now the progressives have seen for their own eyes how truly awful Biden is, and they have a choice to make now that they realize he is a hardline conservative.
