Israel has been blocking all shipments into Gaza for two weeks. The Houthis warned that they would enforce the naval blockade of the Red Sea if Israel does not allow all shipments into Gaza, and when Israel continued to deny aid into Gaza, the Houthis began their attacks on Israeli ships. The US then responded with airstrikes on innocent Yemenis, including hospitals. The US is bombing hospitals in Yemen. This is a war crime. While the US claims the Houthis tried to attack a US warship, the US also claims that this attack missed by 100 miles which would then indicate that it was not an attack on a US warship if it missed by that large of a margin (if what the US says were true which it clearly isn’t because this is the justification for an attack on Yemen). Where are the condemnations and steps from world leaders to hold the US accountable for these war crimes? Since there are no countries brave enough to step up to the US (except Yemen), Israel then began to resume airstrikes on Gaza killing hundreds of innocent Palestinians.
Palestinians are being intentionally starved and dying from the lack of medical supplies because Israel will not permit the entry of aid. This is a war crime. Now innocent Palestinians are also being bombed on top of starvation and lack of medicine. These are clear war crimes as outlined in the Geneva Conventions. What this genocide is proving is that human rights and international law are nonexistent. The UNGA voted on sanctions and accountability for Israel’s war crimes but there is nothing being done in response to that vote or these atrocities taking place. If we want our rights we are going to have to fight for them, fight for changes to protect human rights, and fight for human rights to be upheld. One of the most important aspects of human rights is holding those accountable that abuse, corrupt, manipulate, or dissolve human rights. We are failing horribly with accountability and it is upon us to remove any and all leaders who are not supporting and protecting human rights.
Israel is bombing Gaza aggressively, and I stated this in a previous post that they would break the ceasefire with intensity because they want to pressure Palestinians to accept their plan which is to remove all Palestinians from Gaza which constitutes ethnic cleansing. Netanyahu is also trying to retain power in Israel with the renewed airstrikes on Gaza because the Israeli government is in turmoil and Netanyahu himself is under investigation. Hamas has done nothing to break the ceasefire. Hamas wants a permanent ceasefire and will release all hostage for a permanent ceasefire but Israel has chosen genocide.
Out of control best describes the current status of the US. Killing innocent Yemenis and destroying their hospitals because shipping is blocked in the Red Sea are the actions of war criminals trying to justify their crimes. People are being deported for speaking out on Palestine or just getting caught up in the lawless chaos of the current deportation system which will literally expel anyone out of the US. Critical US agencies are shuttering down and leaving millions of Americans struggling even more than they already were. Food costs are soaring due to tariffs, inflation, and climate change.
The urgency of a global strike is of critical importance. We need to remove these tools of oppression from power permanently and protect human rights at home and internationally. Every country needs to restructure their governmental systems to put the power in the hands of the people because representatives cannot be trusted. We are the ones who need to vote on what we want for our countries. The abuses of power are being thrown in our faces. It’s time we act together in the name of humanity.
From the river to the sea, may Palestine be free. May the whole world be free.
