This Super Bowl Sunday show your solidarity for human rights and the environment

Do you have a party today with friends and family? If you do, then bust out the smart phone and airdrop some articles to your friends and family. Open up the discussion for half-time or after the game about these critical issues. If you’re not opting for a Super Bowl party, you can also send information and your thoughts to support human rights and the environment. Today is a good day to raise your voice and get others involved.

Sudan

The entire country of Sudan is under an internet blackout due to the RSF destroying infrastructure so that information about the ongoing war and genocide cannot be released. There is little news coming out of Sudan because of the internet blackout. How are Sudanese to receive assistance or help if all communications are cut off?

  • 6 million Sudanese are internally displaced

  • 8 million Sudanese have been displaced

  • 18 million Sudanese are food insecure

  • 70-80% of hospitals are nonfunctional

What can you do to help:

Donate to UNICEF and Doctor’s without Borders

Demand sanctions for the UAE and Chad for their arming and supplying the RSF terror group.

Demand a complete arms embargo for the RSF.

Do not purchase any new gold items as many of them are linked to the UAE and the mines they have taken from Sudan.

Democratic Republic of Congo

The M23 militia are attacking and bombing innocent Congolese who are already struggling. The Congo is being exploited for its natural resources and the Congolese are also exploited for those resources barely making any money for their labor and losing their land to mines. Attacks from M23 have increased recently and these attacks are displacing more Congolese and separating children from their parents.

  • Over 1 million Congolese have been displaced

  • Since January, 10,000 Congolese have been displaced

  • Sexual violence has doubled in recent weeks

Demand sanctions for Rwanda and Uganda over their role in arming and providing soldiers for the M23 terror group.

Do not purchase any new electronic devices, new EVs, or new solar panels as these items are sourced from exploitative mines in the DRC.

Palestine

The safe zones have never been safe in Gaza since the war began and now Palestinians may be forced into the Sinai Peninsula or be massacred in Rafah after being displaced from their homes already. There is little food and no medicine in Gaza. Palestinians are sleeping in tents without any heat or shelter from the cold. Israel is placing harsh restrictions on the humanitarian aid they are letting into Gaza which is purposely withholding access to food and medicines.

  • 28,000 Palestinians have been killed

  • 67,500 Palestinians have been injured

  • 1 in 5 Palestinian children are malnourished

This is a list of steps we can all take to help our planet. Climate change is here and we all have to sacrifice and take big steps to heal our planet.

How we can all help the environment:

  1. Don’t use herbicides, insecticides, pesticides, and rodenticides on your property and ask your friends to refrain from purchasing and using. These deadly chemicals are proven to cause cancer and pollute nature. They kill everything- stop using them entirely.

  2. Purchase native plants from your area and help rewild your neighborhood. Even if it is a few plants in a planter box, that can help bees, insects, and birds.

  3. Keep your lights off on your house. Lights affect the migration of birds.

  4. Ditch the airplane trips for local excursions. Our carbon footprints do contribute to climate change. The more people that forego the use of planes, the better shape our atmosphere has in possibly slowing down the effects of fossil fuels.

  5. Refrain from buying new clothes and visit a thrift store. If you have clothes you don’t wear, please donate them. If they are damaged, use them as rags instead of tossing them out.

  6. Voice your support to protect land from mining and solar farms. Green energy is needed but not at the expense of disturbing important ecosystems either through extraction or solar and wind farms.

  7. Eat less meat or go vegetarian if you can. Cows require a lot of food and water which is taking these away from local environments to provide water for the crops to feed the cows. Nature and humans need that water as many parts of the world are facing severe droughts. Choose a healthier diet for you and this planet.

From the river to the sea, may the whole world be free.

Hiking can be deadly. Here are some important steps you should take before going out on your next hike

Enough with the "concern." It's time to take action and end the war on Gaza, which is long overdue
